Sylvia Riquezes designs and fabricates site-specific sculpture for architectural, residential, and public spaces, working directly with developers, architects, and interior designers from concept through installation. Her large-scale geometric and kinetic work is built to inhabit lobbies, common areas, and private residences, extending the visual language of her studio practice into architecture itself.
Commissions & Installations
Lake Tower, Key Biscayne
Installed in the lobby at Lake Tower in Key Biscayne, Overlapping Geometry spans 12 feet of wall with three interlocking diamond forms built from a network of crossing red lines. Designed and installed on-site by Sylvia, the piece was scaled specifically to its wall, 36" x 144" x 10", so it reads as part of the architecture rather than an object added to it.
Behind the front desk, a second piece, “Rectangle Dance”, greets guests as they check in: a stack of nested red rectangular frames, 81" x 63" x 5", built around a single red sphere suspended at its center. Framed within a cutout in the reception wall, it turns a functional architectural element into the focal point of the space.
Cynergi Loft, Wynwood
Installed in the lobby of Cynergi, an apartment building in Wynwood, Synergy is a dense cluster of interlocking red forms that climbs a corner wall, using directional lighting to cast long shadows that become part of the piece itself. At 123" x 80" x 16", it extends the same overlapping-geometry language as Lake Tower into a taller, denser composition scaled to the room's corner.
